2016 Mazda CX-5 - Smart, fun and versatile
The Mazda CX-5 has been on the market since 2012 and 2016 will mark the first refresh since the introduction of the model. This is possibly the best crossover yet.

The Mazda CX-5 has gained a lot of popularity in the increasingly competitive category of crossovers. Yet, everyone seems to agree that the model is one of the best currently available on the market as it offers a balance of great styling, good pricing, versatility and loads of fun at the wheel. For 2016, the crossover also receives a refreshed look for some added fierceness. The new design looks slightly more masculine and muscular than the original one thanks to a new bumper, grille and foglight design.

The 2016 Mazda CX-5 gets the usual same three trim-levels that get you great standard equipment such as air conditioning with dual-zone climate control, wheel-mounted controls, cruise control, keyless access, rearview camera, moonroof, navigation, heated front seats, satellite radio, 7-inch color display, Bluetooth, etc. The CX-5 also has plenty of safety features and technologies to offer that will keep everybody safe, which is why it received the title of 2015 top safety pick+ from the IIHS. Features include blind spot monitoring system with rear cross traffic alert, smart city brake support, forward obstruction warning, lane departure warning system, as well as rollover sensors for side air curtains.

The CX-5 offers comfortable seating for five people thanks to great head, leg and shoulder room. The trunk gets you an impressive volume of 966 liters behind the second row of seats, which doubles up to 1,835 liter once the rear seats are folded down.

The 2016 Mazda CX-5 also comes fully equipped with SKYACTIV technologies that apply to the powertrain and the vehicle’s architecture. The crossover is offered with two powertrain options; a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder SKYACTIV-G engine rated at 155 hp and 150 lb-ft of torque, and a 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder SKYACTIV-G block that produces 184 hp and 185 lb-ft of torque. Base GX trim is offered with a SKYACTIV 6-speed manual gearbox. Standard on the GS and GT is a 6-speed automatic sport transmission. You can also get your vehicle with your choice of a front-wheel or all-wheel drive layout. The fuel consumption rating will vary according to your choice of engine, transmission and layout, but the 2016 Mazda CX-5 has a combined  average  of 8.3L/100km.
