2018 MAZDA3: A CAR THAT STANDS OUT ON SEVERAL LEVELS
The 2018 Mazda3 returns this year without much change after the 2017 model received several upgrades last year. These improvements include a more refined and upscale cabin, a slightly more refined exterior styling, new technology to improve road handling, and much more.
For 2018, the Mazda3 returns with these novelties, and still and always a road behavior that allows it to impress as much in terms of driving pleasure as it does when it comes to comfort.
Mazda3 2018: two engines and an exclusive technology
The 2018 Mazda3 still offers two engines to consumers. The first is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 155 horsepower and 150 lb-ft of torque, while the second is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 184 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque. This engine is available only in the Mazda3 GT and is one of the most powerful of its kind. The first engine is available in the GS version as well as the GX model starting at $ 15,900.
In both cases, SKYACTIV technology does its job and you end up with an engine that is as powerful as it is fuel-efficient. A six-speed automatic transmission is offered, but consumers can also choose to opt for a six-speed manual transmission.
Then there is G-Vectoring technology. The latter uses the engine’s torque judiciously to stabilize the car. The net result is that passengers feel less movements in the city while on the highway, the car will feel a lot more stable.
A more spacious version of the Mazda3 with the 2018 Mazda3 Sport
Available at under $ 20,000, the 2018 Mazda3 Sport has the same engines and features as the Mazda3 sedan, but offers more cargo space. The latter can in fact reach more than 1,300 liters when the rear seat is lowered. With the rear seat in place, the cargo area offers 572 liters.
